Anti-energy drink is a hit in California
December 31st, 2009 - 12:16 am ICT by Aishwarya Bhatt ( 2 comments )California, Dec 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A new anti-energy drink has been launched which is a bestseller in Southern California. This new anti-energy drink has an ingredient ‘kava’ which is a South Pacific root that has reported to have sedative like qualities. Mary Jane’s Relaxing Soda, which is a take-off on one of the nicknames for marijuana, has emerged as a bestseller in southern California, reports the LA Times.
Other relaxing drinks are Slow Cow and Ex Chill. They have “relaxing” qualities, due to the herbs and roots like kava, chamomile and valerian. The surprising part is that all these ingredients are legal and have been used as folk remedies for many years. There is a hug market for these drinks as they are a great alternative to all of the caffeine-laced beverages available.
And the best part is that there is absolutely no age limit for anybody who desires to drink the beverage. However there are consumer warnings for these beverages as the consumers say make them slightly “euphoric” and relaxed after a hard day.
However some critics say that Mary Jane’s Relaxing Soda is still a form of energy drink, because of the fact that it promotes mental focus, unlike Red Bull. The Kava plant has been used for years in the Pacific and has been proven to give a great calming and relaxing effect. The plant has been used as part of folk medicine for more than a 1000 years, so there has to be some benefits.
