Another Royal Gets Engaged: Zara Phillips

Dec 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Prince William is not the only one from the Royal Family of UK to tie the knot next year. The eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, Zara Phillips is also going to join the wedding bandwagon soon as was confirmed by the Buckingham Palace on Tuesday. She got the proposal from boyfriend Mike Tindall which according to her, made her feel elated. However, the date for the second royal wedding has not been set. Incidentally her would be groom is a close friend of Prince William, her cousin who is all set to tie the knot on April 29 2010 at Westminster Abbey.
Mike Tindall is 32 year old and he has played over 66 times for England so far. The couple’s engagement took place on Monday evening. The world be groom said “I am delighted that Zara has agreed to marry me. We are both very excited about the next stage of our lives together.”Buckingham Palace added that both Prince Philip and the queen are delighted over the development. Zara Phillips, 29 years old now, is an ace equestrian and got selected once as the BBC sports personality of the year. She also wanted to take part in 2008’s Beijing Olympics but had to opt out as her horse suffered injury.
Zara Philips along with her brother Peter are thew grandchildren of the Queen who do not bear Royal titles. The date is not fixed but chances are there that they can marry in August 2011. The news of their engagement has sent waves in the media as one can expect.
