Colorado Springs, Nov 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An animal rescue team had to be called in to clear dozens of rabbits from the road in Colorado. The animals were spotted on Sunday and with the help of travelers, the animals were rounded up.

The case has been a subject of investigation by the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region. The organization is offering $500 for anyone who will provide information leading to the mystery being solved. The bunnies were collected from the road by the Dream Power Animal Rescue on Sunday.

The actual number of the animal is not known but the Washington Post reports that the animals were taken to animal shelters. About 20 of the white-furred animals were then given to members of the public who helped round the animals up.

These are harmless creatures but last month, the police had to kill several exotic and wild animals after their keeper opened the doors and committed suicide to free the animals. In all, about 50 animals, some of them considered endangered, were shot and killed by the police.

The police announced that they had no option but to kill the animals because they presented immediate threat to the public. No one was hurt in the incident which happened in Ohio.
