An earthquake measuring 5.2 Richter Scale in Vanuatu

VanuatuA moderate earthquake with an intensity of 5.2 richter scale in Vanuatu.

The moderate quake 5.2 magnitude on richter scale occured on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 05:43:52 UTC ( Coordinated Universal Time ) and on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 12:43:52 PM at epicenter local time as reported by the U.S. Geological Survey.

The epicenter is 95 km (60 miles) N of Luganville, Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu, 365 km (225 miles) NNW of PORT-VILA, Efate, Vanuatu, 460 km (285 miles) SSE of Lata, Santa Cruz Islands, Solomon Isl., 2040 km (1260 miles) NE of BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia with the depth of 148.8 km (92.5 miles) and the location set 14.670°S, 167.125°E.

The last quake at Vanuatu was at the starting of October this year with the magnitude of 5.0 Richter Scale.
