May 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to the latest reports, the 108 Ocean Avenue house at Amityville, that became famous after the 1970s horror flick ‘Amityville Horror’ is on sale in Long Island, New York. The five-bedroom house is reportedly on sale for $1.15 million. The house that is built following the pattern of a Dutch Colonial style and overlooks a canal has been priced highly because of the renovation charges of the house reportedly. A huge sum of money is being spent to renovate the dilapidated house and thus the price for the house has increased.
However, the history of the house will become the greatest hurdle in finding a buyer according to many. The 108 Ocean Avenue, Amityville house has the history of six murders in a single night done by the family’s eldest son Ronald DeFeo back in 1974. In 1975 the Lutz family moved into house, but discovered the house to be haunted. A series of films and books were then released based on the events narrated by the residents and the statements made by the members of the Lutz family who stayed in the house for 28 days only. The house has been since then become a haunted house and even now many people do not trade near the house.
The latest reports claim that the PETA is interested to rent the house and carry out an exhibition that will detail the pains that are inflicted on animals at slaughterhouse and factory farms reportedly. According to the media reports, the PETA wants to exhibit the “real-life” horrors that are inflicted on animals. The show will feature instruments like wire and battery cages, electrified prods along with branding irons that are put to use to kill the animals ruthlessly.
