Nepal, May 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jordan Romero, the 13 year old boy from Big Bear Lake has become the youngest boy to climb to the summits of Mount Everest on Saturday breaking the record previously held by Ming Kipa from Nepal who was 15 when she reached the top of the world’s highest peak in 2003. Jordan Romero’s feat has rekindled renewed energy among the teenagers of the world who love to indulge in adventure sports.
After the teenager climbed the Mount Everest, it was revealed that he has been involved in mountain climbing since the age of 9. Till today Jordan Romero has reached the tops of the highest mountain peaks of six continents of the world. Climbing mountains has been the passion of the 13 year old since his fourth standard days when his parents took him hiking on the mountain slopes. This time too when the boy reached the top of Mount Everest the first person whom he called was his mother. Jordan Romero was with his father, stepmother and three guides at the time of creating history.
According to reports, Jordan Romero’s team is still on the mountain tops, and in order to make their way down to the base camp they will have to tread difficult roads, roads which have taken the lives of many in the past. However considering that the boy was only 9 years old when he climbed up and down Mt. Kilimanjaro, this time too he will make it safely home. After all the teenager will have to climb Vinson Massif in Antarctica and complete his list of all the highest mountains in the seven continents of the world.
