Byron Bay, May 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 32 year old American swimmer who was reported to be missing from New South Wales has been found dead on the Byron Bay beach. Reportedly, the swimmer’s body was discovered by a beach walker who reported the same to the Lifeguard services of Byron Bay.
The American swimmer went for surfing with two of his friends where he went missing into the waters. Following the incident the cops have initiated a search by the Surf Rescue jet ski riders who scouted all over the sea in search of the swimmer. Following that, they also looked all the way over a range of one kilometer from the Tallows Beach stretch to Broken Head but saw no sign of the swimmer. The search was called off at night and again introduced in the morning at 8am from Suffolk Park which came to a stop due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Scott McCartney from the Lifeguard Service told the media that the American swimmer was last spotted when he was swimming in the Byron Bay. As a matter of fact, the American swimmer’s body has been found right at the edge of the water. When asked about the surfing conditions, the Lifeguard Services professional said that he feels that its not wise for a surfer to take calm conditions lightly and favorable for surfing. He also recalled a couple of similar events where two surfers had witnessed trouble in the waters of Byron Bay while surfing. Scott McCartney feels that the presence of the deep gutters at the beach stretch is a thing that has to be avoided at any cost as this could interfere with the surfer’s movement landing him in trouble. All searches were called off after the body of the swimmer was discovered.
