American soldier dies in Iraq
October 7th, 2009 - 3:49 am ICT by BNO NewsCONTINGENCY OPERATING BASE BASRAH, IRAQ (BNO NEWS) – An American soldier died in Iraq on Tuesday, the U.S. military said.
The soldier, who was assigned to the Multi-National Division-South, died of a non-combat related injury, but officials did not immediately provide further details on the cause. The military did confirm, however, that an investigation in what it called an “incident”, is underway.
The identity of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The name will be announced no earlier than 24 hours after his or her family has been informed.
