American Semilar arrested with loaded gun in Chennai
June 11th, 2009 - 8:12 pm ICT by John Le Fevre ( 1 comment )A 58-year-old American national known only as Semilar has been arrested in the Indian city of Chennai while attempting to board a flight with a loaded revolver.
Reports from Chennai say Central Industrial and Security Force personnel found the weapon while scanning the man’s baggage as he was about to board a Jet Airways flight to Mumbai.
Semilar is reported to arrived in Chennai from New Delhi last week to undergo medical treatment at a private hospital.
Officials said the revolver and 35 bullets were detected during routine security scanning and the man claimed to have a valid permit in the US for the weapon.
Semilar, has been handed over to Indian authorities and the American consulate informed.

His name is not Semilar, you must get the facts straight before you try and write a story. His name is SELLMEYER and he is not 58 he is 56. HE DOES HAVE A VALID PERMIT FOR HIS Pistol. My dad did nothing wrong. How idiotic do you think he is to have used his gun in India then try and bring it back to the states? He brought it for protection after what happened there in India.
