American Millionaire donates $8 million for Australian wombats

Sep 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) America’s mystery donor has given $8 million to save the Australian wombats. The volunteers at the wombats are shocked by the bequest from a multi-millionaire.

The report states that the American benefactor visited Mannum in South Australia two years back to see the work at the wombat organization. The director of the organization - Brigitte Stevens is surprised by the millionaire’s donation towards their organization and is planning to buy land to develop a care centre for the wombat’s improvement. She said that it’s a big step towards the conservation of wombats in South Australia. The money will be used and worked for the betterment of wildlife spices.

Wombats are short four legged spice found commonly is native Australia. They are part of Kangaroos and Kolas family and have pouch to hold their young ones like all marsupials. The wombats can grow up to 39 inches in length and weigh 70 pounds.

According to ABC News, director is very happy with the generous donation by the millionaire. She loves the creatures and explains that there is so much to be done with the wombat’s care. “There’s nothing like that in South Australia and you know that’d be a big step forward for conservation in South Australia where we can then work on co-existence with other species of wildlife as well,” she said.
