American Airlines Flight Crash In Jamaica: Leaves 40 Passengers Injured

American AirlinesDec.23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a recent incident an American Airlines aircraft crashed after landing in Jamaica. The ill fated Flight 331 crash landed at Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport amidst pelting rain and broke into two parts. The accident left 40 people injured though no casualty has been reported. The passengers were visibly scared after the incident. They shuddered when they saw the plane broke apart after landing. According to the reports the Boeing 737 aircraft had 7 crew members along with 145 passengers. Later it was found out that the aircraft started one hour after its scheduled time from Miami International airport. It still remains to be known what led to the crash. The incident took place around 10 p.m.

The details of the 40 passengers who have suffered injuries in the accident has not been made available. However, they were admitted to Kingston Public Hospital. It is being assumed that some of them might have serious injuries. According to eyewitnesses, the plane overran after landing and then it broke up unexpectedly. The airlines had another runway mishap this month. Earlier this month, a MD-82 flight’s wing hit the runway in North Carolina and got damaged. However, in that mishap no one received any injury.

Charley Wilson, an AA spokesperson said that the Boeing was almost filled to its capacity. The incident at the runway made the airport authorities jittery. They arranged for emergency vehicles for rescuing the passengers. The AA authorities have not made any official statement regarding the cause of the accident. It is likely to issue a statement after a through investigation is carried out.
