Sep 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Amber Dubois will be remembered in many ways by San Diego. Not only the young teenager will reside in their memories, for the mishap she was subjected to, but also the San Diego County Supervisor Bill Horn and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher, have decided to name State Route 78 after her. A stretch of interstate route 78, situated near San Diego Zoo Safari Park in the east of Escondido, will be renamed in Amber Dubois’ memories. Bill Horn and Nathan Fletcher, will be talking to the Local government’s support, in order to rename the street.
Amber Dubois was kidnapped from Escondido, by a convicted sex criminal, called John Albert Gardner in this April, as she was walking towards Escondido High School in February 2009. He was also found guilty for raping and murdering another seventeen year old teenager, Chelsea King, whom he abducted from a running trail, while she was jogging in Rancho Bernardo Community Park at Lake Hodges. It was proved from the DNA and forensic reports, that John Albert Gardner was responsible for the rape and murder of both the victims. He was also found guilty of raping John Albert Gardner had to hear two life sentences, without any parole. However, this unfortunate incident in San Diego, could not be compensated by just punishing the criminal. therefore the new “Chelsea’s Law”, has been proposed for the safety of young girls against sex offenders and a two roads will be renamed after the two teenagers.
Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, drafted three more rules that will ensure bringing the abducted children back from the predators, by improving the state’s response to abduction and eventually reducing it. The state will have to report an abduction to the national tracking system in two hours, instead of four.
