The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has requested activation of the Emergency Alert System AMBER Alert for the confirmed abduction of 4 children in the area of Washoe County.

The victims may be with their non-custodial mother Claire Tourand. The suspect is a 34 year old white female 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weight approximately 220 pounds, large build, with brown hair, hazel eyes.

Suspect was last seen driving a white 1998 Mercury Sable with Nevada plates number 369-SDH.

Tourand was scheduled to meet with Social Services today regarding custody of the children and failed to show up for the meeting. Investigators determined that Tourand left her residence sometime in the last 24 hours and fled with the four children. A court order was issued for return of the children by a family court judge who stated that there was an immediate risk of harm to the children.
