Amber Alert issued for 13-year-old California girl

WHITTIER, California (BNO NEWS) — Authorities in Whittier, California issued a statewide Amber Alert on Saturday morning after a girl was abducted from her home on Friday, officials told BNO News.

Thirteen-year-old Cynthia Irene Hernandez was abducted from her Whittier home by her paternal uncle at around 7.30 p.m. local time on Friday evening. “Apparently there was an argument and he took her,” a watch commander at the Whittier Police Department said. The Amber Alert was issued at 2.45 a.m. local time.

The suspect is Juan Cuella Hernandez, a 45-year-old Hispanic male. He is described as having black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing gray slacks and a a green long sleeve dress shirt. He is about 5 feet and 8 inches tall, weighing about 245 pounds.

The victim is a 13-year-old Hispanic female who is about 5 feet and 11 inches tall. She weighs about 240 pound. The girl was last seen wearing a pink shirt, a blue jean skirt, white tennis shoes and brown prescription glasses.

Authorities believe the suspect has a gun in his possession and should be considered armed and dangerous. The suspect was last seen driving a black Chevy Silverado with a California license plate of 8N84118. It is believed that the suspect may be in the Los Angeles or Orange County area.
