Dec.08, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The sensational murder trial of Amanda Knox created much speculation and buzz in media for quite some time. The Student was accused of plotting the murder of her classmate Meredith Kercher and was assisted by her ex boyfriend. The ghastly murder shook everybody two years back. The semi naked body of Meredith Kercher was found with blood all over the place. The trial was also full of drama and Amanda Knox tried to defend herself by pleading to be innocent. Ultimately, the Italian court [that was judging the case] declared her guilty and handed her a severe 26 year imprisonment for the crime.

However, not everyone agreed unanimously with the verdict that was delivered a few days back. The supporters of Amanda Knox, including her family, cried foul and said that the court made the decision based on the fabricated stories circulated by a section of the Italian media. The legal experts are of the opinion while there was lack of sufficient evidence against Amanda Knox, her odd and strange behaviors worked against her from the beginning of the trial. During the interrogation she acted in some weird manners. She was quite restrained when others were sobbing, after the murdered roommate was found.

This made the prosecution term her as a cold natured woman and deepened their suspicion. This case bears a stark resemblance to the situation depicted in the famous novel of Albert Camus named “The Stranger”. In that novel too the suspected character did not show his grief after his mother’s death and this led to his crisis. The legal experts feel Amanda Knox could have acted in a sober way, which would have helped her.
