Amanda Knox to wait for 2 months to know DNA evidence would be used or not
August 1st, 2011 - 7:42 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattPerugia, Aug 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Amanda Knox has been left in the lurch by the court, as she must now wait for a couple of months to learn whether the DNA evidence would eventually be used or not. It sure would be an agonizing wait for the jailed Knox to learn whether she would be cleared of her murder charge or not. She is accused of murdering the British student Meredith Kercher.
Last week, the experts in the case were debating in court whether the DNA evidence was worthy of being administered in court or whether it was full of errors and thus inadmissible in court. Amanda’s lawyers are arguing that all the correct procedures were not followed when the evidence was been collected from the scene of crime and hence Amanda ought to be cleared of the murder charge.
A judge had to take the final call on a report which stressed that a number of blunders were committed by the police. Judge Claudio Pratillo Hellman has adjourned the case till September.
Amanda Knox’s mother Edda Mellas said that, “It went well - the prosecution tried to challenge them but their conclusions stand. Proper procedures were not followed.”
