Perugia, Dec.12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former American student Amanda Knox who has been convicted for murdering her roommate Meredith Kercher, has reportedly expressed her faith in Italian jury and has added that considers the trial which sentenced her to 26 years in prison is ‘correct’. According to certain reports, Amanda Knox has expressed her views to Walter Verini, an Italian member of Parliament after four days of the trial which found her guilty of brutally murdering the British student two years ago. The parliamentarian represents the region of Umbria, where the American has been jailed.

The trial which was held few days back, had become the center of much speculation as many people across America including her parents had questioned the fairness of the Italian court that convicted Amanda Knox. At the same time, it has also been considered by many that the verdict was the result of an anti-Americanism and the jury was influenced by the coverage that media had given to the trial.

Moreover, the parliamentarian has also emphasized that when he visited Amanda Knox in the Capanne prison, she appeared to be clam and was extremely polite and cordial with him. Meanwhile, her mother Edda Mellas has said that following the verdict the 22 year old student was shifted to a prison which she shared with a 53 year old American.

Along with Amanda Knox, her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito has also been convicted in the trail and was given a 25 year sentence. Apart from the two, Rudy Guede, who was an accomplice in the heinous crime has already been convicted in a separate trial and is serving a jail sentence.
