All clear at Times Square after suspicious package (Updated)
May 8th, 2010 - 1:32 am ICT by BNO NewsNEW YORK CITY (BNO NEWS) — Some parts of Times Square were briefly evacuated on Friday because of a suspicious package, emergency officials said.
The package, a white cooler, was located at West 46 Street and Broadway and out of an abundance of caution, the surrounding areas were evacuated.
NBC News quoting officials said books and water bottles were found inside the cooler.
The bomb scare came only days after a failed car bomb attack on Times Square in New York City. No one was injured in the failed attack, which was described as an ‘act of terrorism’ by New York Governor Paterson.
