Oct 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With Halloween approaching, people are searching for how to make this year a memorable (and a frightening) one. Even the cable operators show Halloween inspired scary movies like ‘Alien Resurrection’. The movie aired on 24th Oct in the afternoon with lots of people tuning in to get Halloween ides on costumes and such forth. The movie aired on AMC.
The movie is preceded by ‘Alien’ (1979), ‘Aliens’ (1986), and ‘Alien 3′ (1992). The movies is set 200 years after ‘Aliens 3′. In this movie, an Alien queen is removed from the body of the cloned Ellen Ripley played by Sigourney Weaver. The whole process was surgically done, for the breeding of aliens so that they could be studied further. However the story follows the escaping of the aliens and destruction of Auriga. The movie got mixed reviews from the public as well as the critics after it was released on 26th November of 1997.
However, to the disappointment of the public, big-brand chain-stores have stopped selling “illegal alien” costumes nowadays. They received a number of complaints from ‘immigrant right activists’, after which they had to stop the sales. According to sources, the costume was a jumpsuit, orange in color, and was quite similar to the uniform worn in the prisons. Also, “illegal alien” was written across the chest along with a “green card” and also a mask. The activists, offended by the costumes which were made for women, called it a “mockery of the anguish that comes with being an undocumented U.S. immigrant”. The women costume had a mini-dress with handcuffs and a top that was sleeveless.
