ALBANY, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) – An Albany, New York resident was arrested for attempted murder, shooting several people, including a child, local authorities said on Monday.

James Bruce Brawley, 25, of Albany fired multiple rounds from a handgun last Sunday at around 2:30 a.m., into the trailer where Jacob Moffatt and five other occupants, including a child, were residing. Brawley fled the scene before police officers arrived.

Later that afternoon, Brawley was located leaving his residence, and Albany Police Detective surveillance followed the vehicle until it stopped in the unoccupied parking lot of the Albany Family and Specialty Medicine clinic. Patrol officers took Brawley out of the vehicle at gunpoint and transported him to the Albany Police Department.

Moffatt, 25, was shot in the head and transported to Samaritan Albany General Hospital where he was treated and released for his injury, but he was transported to the Linn County Jail on several outstanding arrest warrants.

The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation as Brawley is being charged for attempted murder and assault in the second degree.
