May 19th, 2011 - 12:40 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattConnecticut, May 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Air Force One aborted an attempted landing before it successfully did so on the second attempt. The world’s most sophisticated plane had President Barack Obama on board when the incident happened on Wednesday at the Windsor Locks, Conn. Airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration assured that the incident was not as dangerous as the media reported. The administration explained that the pilot decided to abort landing when he realized that the weather made it not safe to do so. Some reporters who were traveling with the President on the flight confirmed that the incident didn’t spark any panic in the plane. They said they did not even realize that the plane had aborted a landing on an attempt.
President Obama was in Connecticut on Wednesday to deliver an address to the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London. The weather was quite heavy when the plane reached the airport. White House spokesman Nick Shapiro told reporters that the incident didn’t pose any risk to the passengers in the plane.
The Air Force One is reserved for the President of the United States. It is specially made with safety as the top priority.
