July 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Monday, the Oakland County Circuit Court sentenced a Michigan woman named Aimee L. Sword a 9 to 30 years in prison for pleading guilty of having sex with her biological son. The lady pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in a deal with the prosecutors. She was originally charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

A Detroit-area resident, Aimee L. Sword gave up her son for adoption when he was just an infant. The adoptive parents of her son regularly sent her the photograph of the boy along with a letter confirming his well being. However the chain was broken back in 2008 when her son turned 14. After she did not receive a photograph of her son she tracked him in Facebook. She was then living with her husband and five children. Mitchell Ribitwer, attorney of Aimee L. Sword said to media source that when Aimee L. Sword saw the photograph of her son in Facebook it was not a feeling of a mother for her son that touched her but that of a girlfriend. The attorney added that the accused is still unable to find the reason behind such a feeling.

The police have maintained that Aimee L. Sword and her biological son have had sexual encounters several times both in Waterford Township and Grand Rapids. The son had reportedly testified it in front of the police. Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper said after the sentencing that “It’s a very tragic case, and I’m concerned for the welfare of this young boy” adding that she is concerned of what the incident may have done to his future.
