Abdul Mudallad: The Man Behind Flight 253

Dec.26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Another name to join the ranks of terrorists is Abdul Mudallad, a man who attempted to bomb the Northwest Airlines headed to Detroit. The man is reportedly related to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. Abdul Mudallad, is being said to be around 23 year old and is formerly Nigerian. He was recognized by the Republican - Pete King from the House Intelligence Committee. However, his identification has not yet been confirmed by a law-enforcement official or any other government official.
Sources claim that the man was definitely popular which means that his names was not unknown and that it has appeared in ‘terrorist related logs and in relation to Al-Qaeda’. The man was however, not on the ‘US terrorist watch list’, which itself contains around 900000 names. The watch list is also called the ‘no-fly’ list and it includes the names of those people who are not allowed to use any kind of commercial aircraft anywhere in the world. Abdul Mudallad claimed that he had acquired his explosives from Yemen, but the claim has not been confirmed yet.
While trying to detonate the bomb he was carrying, he himself suffered 3rd degree burns. This happened when he was approached, after boarding the flight in Nigeria, making a stop at Amsterdam and then heading to Detroit. According to the Transportation Security Administration, he is now in a hospital and is under police watch. Fortunately, he was unable to injure any other being apart from himself. The who incident was brought to the notice of the United States President Barack Obama, who was holidaying in the Hawaiian island with his family for the Christmas eve.
