AMSTERDAM (BNO NEWS) — Two men were arrested aboard a United Airlines flight after landing at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Monday, ABC News reported.

The network, citing Dutch public prosecutor Ernst Koelman, said the men were arrested at the request of American authorities after the flight landed in Amsterdam. ABC said the men were subsequently charged with “preparation of a terrorist attack.”

The two were allowed to board the flight at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago on Sunday night despite security concerns surrounding one of them, officials told ABC News, which identified the men as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, of Detroit, MI, and Hezam al Murisi.

BNO News was not immediately able to verify the report with either Dutch or U.S. authorities.
