Aaron Denham wakes up from coma & makes a miraculous recovery
August 22nd, 2011 - 8:35 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Aug 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 22-year-old cyclist was just hours away from being declared dead when he miraculously started recovering from a horrible accident. Hospital officials had contemplated turning off the life support of Aaron Denham because his situation seemed ‘hopeless.’
His family had also almost given up on him. Denham had a nasty cycling accident that left him with several head injuries, a broken neck, a severed artery on the neck, broken pelvis and bruised spinal cord along with several internal injuries. It was considered a miracle that he did not die at the scene of the accident which occurred in March.
According to Daily Mail, Denham was riding his bicycle back from work when he collided with a vehicle. The impact of the accident sent Denham smashing into the windscreen of the Ford vehicle and landing powerfully on the road. At the time of the accident, a former nurse happened to be around and she used her experience to properly position Denham while the paramedics rushed to the scene.
He was in coma for months but Denham has now recovered and against several odds he is walking unaided. He has undergone series of operations and he is still being treated towards full recovery.
Denham’s mother, Deborah, told the newspaper that, “The doctors said it was ‘miraculous’. They think he could be back home in three or four months which is amazing considering all his injuries and considering we so nearly lost him.”
