67-year-old woman dies in go-kart crash
November 2nd, 2010 - 8:18 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattStanton, Nov 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 67-year-old woman was killed when a go-kart that she was test-driving veered onto the path of a car that smashed into her. Police are investigating the freak accident. The Californian woman who has been identified as Hwa Oh of Fullerton was given the chance to test drive the vehicle at the Stanton parking lot when the incident happened.
It is reported that Hwa was allowed to test drive the vehicle by the vendor at the indoor swap meet at about 6 pm on Saturday. She however lost control of the vehicle shortly afterwards. Her horrifying drive took her through some bushes and a sidewalk before crossing the path of the car that crashed her. She was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead-on-arrival.
The daughter of the woman who witnessed the incident revealed that her mother was a good driver. She said she believe her mum lost control of the high speeding car because she was nervous. The accident happened in just ten seconds after Hwa started driving the vehicle.
Police say the driver that crashed the go-kart car with Hwa will not be the subject of the investigations which is ongoing.
