01471Flagstaff, June 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The massive wildfire in Flagstaff which had engulfed a huge stretch of the jungle area had provoked the local authorities to launch an investigation.

As a matter of fact, the cops had detained a man in their custody on Sunday in connection with the wildfire. However, now the 54 year old Californian has been charged and is being held at the Coconino County Detention Facility.

Randall Wayne Nicholson is said to have been camping in the woods on Saturday when he had disposed the hot coals used for the camp fire. The area was a dry one and the coals which were disposed off in a wrong way had set the tress on fire.

After he was charged and presented before the court, the judge offered him a bail of $2,500 for his release from the police custody.

Kimberly Ott who happens to be the local city spokeswomen told the media that the cops believe that the incident was not a “deliberate” one and hence there isn’t any point to hold the man back in police custody.

As per the laws of the Arizona sate, such an offense is regarded to be a class-II misdemeanor which might lead to a minimum fine of $750 and a prison sentence of not less than 4 months. However, what remains the biggest challenge for the Arizona authorities at this point in time is to bring the situation under control.

The fire fighters said that it’s the fast blowing wind which is interfering with their job as the fire is catching up other places as well.
