Wellington, Jan 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A three-year-old girl stood up against an angry lion at the Wellington Zoo. In a video that has gone spiral on the Internet, Sofia Walker can be seen giving the seven-year-old lion a stare back as the animal tries to intimidate her with a stern watch.

Fortunately for everyone involved, a thick safety glass stood between the girl and the cat named Malik. The incident happened last week and it was Sofia’s father, Julian, who recorded the event on camera.

After exchanging the tensed look with the creature, Sofia turned to her parents and asked “What’s he telling me?” A woman off the shot replied that, ‘I think he’s telling you to move away, Sofia. He wants to eat his food.”

Sofia failed to move back and continued to exchange looks with the animal. The creature finally rose on its hind legs and used his paws to strike the safety glass.

The zoo said that encounter between Sofia and Malik is not rare. The zoo explained that, “They don’t like to share, lions.”

Julian told reporters that Sofia is confident with animals. He added that based on the encounter between the little girl and the lion, it seems he can’t match her confidence.
