3 Mexicans arrested with 1300 pounds of marijuana in fishing vessel

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (BNO NEWS) – Three Mexican Nationals were arrested on Sunday after a fishing vessel with marijuana were seized in Texas, the U.S. Attorney Tim Johnson said today.

Francisco Montes De Oca Pablo, 33, and Luis Evangelino Aguilar-Ramirez, 36, of Matamoros, Mexico, and Antonio Guerrero-Saldana, 36, of Veracruz, Mexico, were arrested and charged with conspiring to and possessing with intent to distribute marijuana.

The Mexican fishing vessel was seized at approximately 12:15 a.m. local time on the north end of South Padre Island, Texas last Sunday, February 7, when more than 1300 pounds of marijuana was discovered aboard. The three men were detained after the boat landed on the beach near the north end of the island.

The prosecution will be led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Oscar Ponce.
