23 year old Darlene Haynes was found by the police murdered brutally in a condition which is beyond the stretch of imagination for most people in this turn of the century. Officers had broken in to her Worcester apartment in Massachusetts after receiving complaints from the neighbors that a peculiar stench was coming from the apartment. When the cops went in on Monday, they found Darlene’s dead body in a bedroom closet wrapped in bedding. Her abdomen was slit.

The autopsy report revealed that a 8 month old fetus had been removed from the Haynes’ womb and she had been dead for quite some days when her body had been found. There is no trace of the removed fetus till now and the legal authorities are trying to put clues together to get to the bottom of who killed the expectant mother.

According to reports, she had been last seen on Thursday. The medical examiner has said that the missing fetus may survive provided it receives immediate medical attention. The police have ruled the case to be a possible homicide.

When the police had found Haynes’ body, it had reportedly decomposed and mangled up so much that the gender of the victim could not be deciphered immediately. Worcester Detective Captain Edward J. McGinn Jr. has reportedly told the media that Haynes has also sustained head trauma, according to the medical reports.

A friend of Haynes had told that she had received a text message from Haynes on Thursday at 11:20 p.m saying that she was having wine coolers at her apartment.
