New York, May 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) New York shall witness its 25th Annual Aids walk which shall be organised by the Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC). Reportedly this time the walk is taking a big shape and shall have more than 45,000 walkers who shall come together in the Central Park along with thousand of other volunteers.

GHMC is a non profit organization which has been trying continuously to regenerate the awareness level for the deadly disease. The organization believes that in spite of massive campaigns for aids, people are still falling prey to the disease which bodes ill for one and all. The Aids Walk seeks the help of one and all to come up together for the event and make sure that the event turns out to be a successful one. As a matter of fact, the Aids Walk held in the year of 2009 managed to raise a total fund amount of $5.6 million which has been put to use for all Aids Awareness Programme and the associated campaigns.

The Aids Walk will encompass an area of 6.2 miles starting from the Central Park in between the 5th and 59th Avenue. All walkers are to register prior to the race which shall witness Governor David Patterson addressing the crowd at the opening of the race with his inaugural speech. GMHC in their noble cause has managed to gather the support of a bevy of celebrities which includes Hilary Duff, Whoopi Goldberg, Cyndi Lauper, Alec Baldwin, Harvey Fierstein, Jon Stewart and Nathan Lane along with other prominent and influential figures of the state.
