20-Year-Old Marisol Valles Garcia Hired As Police Chief Of Mexican Municipality

Praxedis Guadalupe Guerrero, Oct 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Marisol Valles Garcia is a young Mexican girl, all of 20 years of age who is a student of criminology. However, there is something about this young girl that sets her apart from her peers. Marisol Valles Garcia has assumed the responsibilities of the police chief of the trouble-torn borderland Praxedis G. Guerrero, which is considered to be one of the most violent regions in the state of Chihuahua which is almost always in the news for its lawlessness.
The 20-year-old who is yet to complete her criminology degree was sworn in as the police chief of Praxedis G. Guerrero on Wednesday as no one else wanted to take up the position in the municipality where drug trafficking is rampant and the ensuing violence has killed large number of innocent people. The office of the mayor at Praxedis G. Guerrero revealed to the media that Marisol Valles Garcia has been appointed as the police chief as she was the only person to have accepted the position to head the police force whose officers are kidnapped and even killed. While explaining her decision to became the head of the police forces in the turbulent region, the 20-year-old said that she took up the post as she wanted her son to live in a fearless community similar to what it was initially.
Marisol Valles Garcia further added that given the scarce resources, her focus would not only be directed towards dealing with drug trafficking but to rehabilitate public spaces while improving relationship between neighbors. The 20-year-old mother of took about a month’s time to decide whether she wanted to take up the position.
