15-Year Old Behind The Wisconsin Hostage Drama Dies Due To Self-Inflicted Wounds

marinette-foloDec 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 15-year-old student who held 23 students and one teacher hostage at Marinette High School has passed away on Tuesday according to the authorities. They have also confirmed that Samuel Hengel died from self inflicted wounds at the hospital. The students of Marinette High School have expressed shock at the chain of events that took place on Monday and said that it was unimaginable to think that the 15 year old would do such a thing.

Samuel Hengel also made no demands during the 6 hour standoff in spite of being armed with 2 handguns and significant amount of ammunition in a duffel bag and pockets. He also did not hurt any of the students or the teacher and shot at the projector inside the class and also at the wall. One student caught in the horrific ordeal said that Samuel Hengel did not look like he would harm anyone but appeared as if he might commit suicide.

Reports indicate that Samuel Hengel was a well liked student who was known for his outdoor interests like hunting and fishing. During the stand-off, one of the students had also asked him how is fishing was going. The students credited the teacher for keeping Samuel Hengel calm during the stand-off. The principal of the school also tried to come into the class during the hostage situation but Samuel Hengel pointed a gun at him and asked him to leave. The stand-off dragged on for 6 hours when police decided to break in and heard gun shots from inside the class. Samuel Hengel had shot himself and was taken to the hospital where he breathed his last on Tuesday. The school was kept closed on Tuesday.
