12-year-old takes police on a high speed chase
May 6th, 2010 - 1:15 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattTexas, May 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 12-year-old boy took the police on a high-speed chase. However no one was hurt in the incident, even though the chase went for nearly 7 miles. The police relaxed after the 12-year-old boy had to stop, when he reached a dead end. Prior to that, he had led the police over even the highways and the back streets.
The police were all the more worried because the driver of the car was just 12 years old and he was sometimes even driving at over 90 miles an hour. The high-speed chase had started around midnight, and it continued at high speed across stop signs and even narrowly escaped hitting other cars and pedestrians, who were on the road.
After the police were able to stop the car, then they learnt that the 12 year old was trying to run away from home. Later he and his friend were arrested and they were placed in the youth detention centre. Their parents have been informed about the incident also.
