12-pack beer theft ends in fatal crash

Oakland Park, April 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 36-year-old man crashed to his death moments after he had stolen a 12-pack of Budweiser Beer from a gas station. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon.

A press briefing released by the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Wyman Sims died at the scene of the accident when he crashed his car into a tree. The incident took place on the 4400 block of Northwest 21st Avenue. The press briefing said that the police suspect the crash took place at 1:30 p.m. local time.

Witnesses said they saw Sims speeding his car. Moments later the car swerved and struck the tree when Sims tried to overtake another car. The car crashed into a palm tree and the deputies who first reached the scene said Sims was already dead.

Sims was apparently fleeing from a BP gas station after he allegedly stole a dozen Budweiser Beer. When the employees of the gas station realized that the beers were missing, they alerted the police. When the police got to the gas station they realized that the thief was gone but on their way back to the station they saw Sims’ car in a car.
