Vogue magazine has come under fire for publishing sexualized images of a ten-year-old model. The images of Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau were published on the cover and inside pages of the magazine Vogue Enfants.

The pictures have been described as provocative and campaigners say the images should have been done by someone who was twice the age of the child. Blondeau has already been described as the next big thing in the fashion world. She was born in the West African nation of Ivory Coast and brought to France.

She has already been compared to Brigitte Bardot who at the age of sixteen years made the cover of the magazine ELLE.

The British group, Mothers’ Union, has criticized the magazine. A spokesperson of the union told reporters that, “Photo shoots requiring her, a 10-year-old-girl, to dress in full make-up, teetering heels and a dress with a cleavage cut to the waist across her pre-pubescent body deny Blondeau the right to be the child she is.”

The union criticized the modeling agency of Blondeau as well saying the agency has failed to determine that they are representing a child.

Blondeau is the child of former French football star Patrick Blondeau and actress Véronika Loubry.
