New Delhi, Sep 17 (IANS) In the wake of the serial bombings in the capital last week, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee Wednesday sought to deliver a tough message to the terrorists, saying that a “determined” government will defeat their nefarious plans with all its might.”We will adopt a zero tolerance level towards terrorist activities. This determined government will defeat their designs,” Mukherjee said.

He was speaking at Field Marshal K.M. Kariappa Memorial Lecture here.

Delivering the lecture, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said India’s neighbourhood was in turmoil, and accused Pakistan of taking its hostility towards India beyond the Kashmir issue.

“Though they have been saying Kashmir is the central issue, they have been taking their hostiity towards India beyond Kashmir,” he maintained.

Speaking about China, Chidambaram noted that the Nuclear Suppliers Group had granted an India-specific waiver despite Beijing’s negative stance on the issue.

“China is very unpredicatble on boundary issues. Though it has settled its disputes with other nationns, it is very unpredictable with India. Recently in the NSG, China took a negative stand (against India),” the finance minister maintained.
