Zardari to visit Iran for talks: Iranian envoy
July 14th, 2011 - 11:25 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, July 14 (IANS) Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari will pay an official visit to Iran Saturday to discuss mutual and regional developments, the Iranian ambassador to Islamabad said Thursday.
Mashallah Shakeri said Zardari will hold talks with Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic republic and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Xinhua reported citing Press TV.
He said Iran and Pakistan hold frequent consultations on issues pertaining to the Muslim world and the region as they were two “influential” countries among Islamic states.
The talks will focus on ways to expand mutual relations, he said.
Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik will accompany Zardari on the trip.
