Zara Phillips gets engaged

In a matter of just weeks, two engagements have been announced by the royal family. Prince William was the first to announce his engage to his longtime girlfriend, Kate Middleton. Now, another grandchild of the Queen, Zara Phillips is engaged to be married. The 29-year-old is set to marry her longtime boyfriend, Mike Tindall.
Tindall is an English professional rugby player. He was born in the UK city of Leeds. He met Zara when the 2003 English rugby world cup winning team presented their trophy to the Queen at the Palace. Tindall was part of the team.
The couple released a statement after the engagement. Zara said that Tindall’s proposal shocked her but Tindall was not shocked at all. He was rather glad that Zara accepted to marry him.
Tindall said in the statement, “I am delighted that Zara has agreed to marry me. We are both very excited about the next stage of our lives together.”
The Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen are also said to be very excited about the engagement. The couple is yet to announce the date for their wedding.
