Hickory, Oct 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Hickory Police Chief Tom Adkins announced yesterday that the case of missing girl, Zahra Clare Baker, has turned into a case of homicide. The 10-year-old girl whose bone cancer left her with prosthetic leg and hearing aids has been missing since last Saturday and the police are leaving no stones unturned to find out the missing girl. The girl’s stepmother Elisa Baker is reportedly one of the prime suspects of the case, though she is arrested for unrelated charges. However, after the revelation that Elisa Baker was left a ransom note in her car the police has charged with felony obstruction of justice.

Elisa Baker told the investigators that she does not know Zahra Clare Baker’s whereabouts and she last saw her sleeping in her bed at around 2 a. m. Tom Adkins said that the police are having a difficult time searching for the girl as they can not find anybody who last saw her and they are having a “difficult” time establishing a true time-line of the girl’s disappearance. Brittany Bentley, a relative of the missing girl told a reputed media source that the 10-year-old girl had a “terrible” home life and she was locked in her room and punished for every single thing she did. Zahra Clare Baker had to go through all the ordeals and she was not allowed to come out of her room even, except for having food.

The police seem to be suspecting that Zahra Clare Baker’s mother has some link in her disappearance. However, the police are not ready to comment anything till they get the valid proof. One of the most surprising fact about the case is that even Zahra Clare Baker’s father Adam Baker has also said that his wife Elisa Baker could be involved in the case.
