Wozniacki talks of global warming to rid her of her ‘boring’ press conference tag
January 22nd, 2011 - 6:24 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Jan 22(ANI): World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki has hit back at tennis reporters at the Australian Open, some of whom have found her post-match press conferences “boring”.
“Yesterday I got the question by the media, they said that my press conferences were kind of boring - yeah, that I always gave the same answers,” the Daily Express quoted Wozniacki, as saying.
“I find it quite, you know, funny, because I always get the same questions. I know what you’re going to ask me already, so I’m just going to start with the answer,” she added.
The 20-year-old then delivered a monologue unlike any No.1 before her, giving the answers to the routine questions without anyone asking her the questions.
Wozniacki explained what she “needs to do to win this tournament.”
“Hopefully,” she concluded, “this was a little bit different than usual, and now you can maybe, yeah, give me some questions that are a little bit more interesting, a little bit different than what I usually get”.
She later responded to a mediaperson’s question: “How should we solve global warming?”
“I’m flying quite a bit, so that doesn’t really help. Go green. Make cars that don’t use so much gas. Make them electric. That would help. Use the buses, the trains, instead of the car,” Wozniacki said.
“When you take a shower, don’t stay there for half an hour. Two minutes is enough. Even the girls,” she added. (ANI)
