Wow, said Clinton, when Gaddafi fell
October 21st, 2011 - 5:59 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Oct 21 (IANS) “Wow!” said US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton when she read in BlackBerry that Muammar Gaddafi had been captured in Libya.
Gaddafi, who ruled Libya for 42 years, died Thursday after his hometown Sirte fell to the National Transitional Council fighters.
Clinton was in Kabul when an aide gave her the BlackBerry with the first news of Gaddafi’s capture.
Initial reports said Gaddafi had been captured while it later emerged that he had been killed under circumstances that were not very clear.
