World’s fastest texter types supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in 13sec!
July 23rd, 2010 - 3:00 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, July 23 (ANI): The battle of the thumbs is set to begin again - Aussie sharp-texters are ready to punch it out for the top spot at the New South Wales texting championships.
Jian Li, 18, is the woman to beat - the teen holds the title of Australia’s Fastest Texter.
When The Daily Telegraph asked Li to show her texting prowess with the longest word in the book, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, she punched out the 34-letter tongue twister in an unbelievable 13 seconds.
“There’s so many fast texters this year, so it’s pressure,” news.com.au quoted her, as saying.
This weekend, Li will rely on her natural talent because a new phone plan has forced her to cut back on texting.
She said: “I used to send about 100 a day but I don’t do that any more, I have a different mobile plan so I don’t have as much credit.”
Li, who typed an 80-character sentence in just 16.5 seconds, represented Australia in the LG Mobile World Cup in 2009.
The winner of this weekend’s heat in Sydney will meet Cheong Kit Au, who qualified as the Victorian representative with a time of 12.5 seconds.
A 10,000-dollar prize and an overseas trip as the national representative of Australia are up for grabs. (ANI)
