October 28th, 2010 - 2:48 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) For those adrenaline junkies who have a need for speed, the world’s fastest rollercoaster is here! For those who are looking for a new fix to feed their addiction, the largest indoor amusement park in the world, Abu Dhabi’s Ferrari World, which opens on October 28, offers the fastest rollercoaster in the world, with speeds of up to 149 miles per hour.
The ‘Formula Rossa’ rollercoaster promises to give riders the thrills which are felt by a Formula One race car driver, sitting alongside fifteen other thrill-seekers. It can go from “zero to sixty” in two seconds, and reaches it’s top speed within four seconds. The car is propelled at a launch thrust of 10,000 hp.
According to ‘Suite101’, Ferrari World’s website promises riders will “scream over the track and 52 meters into the sky before flying through the chicanes, inspired from some of the most famous race tracks in the world, and across the finish line, with an adrenaline kick worthy of the Grand Prix.”
