World War II bomb defused in Vienna
February 16th, 2011 - 9:11 am ICT by IANSVienna, Feb 16 (IANS) Austrian experts have defused a bomb of the second World War period in Vienna.The 250-kg bomb was found by construction workers at a proposed train station in the city, Xinhua reported quoting Austrian media.
The interior ministry sent a team of experts to the scene and evacuated the area. The operation caused traffic jams in some of the busiest roads in the Favoriten district.
The second World War was fought from 1939 to 1945, involving all the major powers of the world divided between two groups- Allies and Axis.
