Moscow, June 9 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A huge cache of small arms from World War II have been discovered in a home in Russia, police said.

Experts were examining the weapons found in Bryansk city. Many of the weapons are German-made.

“We found five MG-34 machine-guns, two Russian-made Maxims, an MP-40 submachine-gun, 10 foreign and Russian-made pistols, two 45 mm artillery rounds, two grenades and about 3,000 rounds of ammunition,” a police official said.

An investigation has been launched. If the owner of the weapons is found guilty of illegal possession of arms, he could face four years in jail.

Bryansk - close to the border with Ukraine - was the scene of some of the biggest battles of World War II.
