World Orchestra for Peace enthrals Abu Dhabi
January 6th, 2011 - 1:08 am ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Jan 5 (IANS/WAM) The World Orchestra for Peace, an ensemble of some of the world’s finest musicians led by acclaimed Russian conductor Valery Gergiev, enthralled audiences in Abu Dhabi in its first ever concert in the Middle East.The orchestra, which consists of 76 artistes from 63 different orchestras from 31 countries, performed at the Emirates Palace Tuesday night.
The 90-minute concert was hosted by the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF).
It was the 18th performance by the orchestra since its inception in 1995.
