Paris, Sep 2 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirtaes along with Qatar and Jordan have been lauded by world leaders for their participation in the international coalition for protection of Libyan people.
Addressing a news conference at the conclusion of the Friends of Libya international conference here Thursday night, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron hailed the UAE, Qatar and Jordan for their role.
Sarkozy said: “Let it be clear that it wouldn’t have been possible to protect the Libyan people without our friends in the Arab world who expressed the courage and determination, as Qatar, UAE and Jordan have been with us since the first moment.”
“This proves that there is no confrontation between East and West, it is the right of the Arab and African people to enjoy the values of democracy like all other people in the world,” he said.
Co-Sponsor of the conference, Cameron also hailed the participation of the UAE, Qatar, Jordan and the US in their efforts to protect the Libyan people.
