London, Jan 24 (IANS) A British woman died of suspected cardiac arrest while sitting beside her teenaged daughter in a chair lift that was taking them up a summit on a skiing holiday in the French Alps.

Cheryl Fairbrother, 45, was making the ascent at Serre Chevalier, one of the major French ski resorts, in the southern Alps with daughter Jade Ramsden, 19, when she suffered a suspected heart attack, the Daily Express reported.

She had flown out for a week’s skiing and to visit her daughter who had been working in the French resort.

Attempts to resuscitate her after the chair lift reached the summit of the Vallons piste failed. She was declared dead before paramedics could air lift her to hospital.
