Woman survives ninth-floor fall
August 16th, 2010 - 11:40 am ICT by IANSBuenos Aires, Aug 16 (IANS/EFE) A 21-year-old woman survived a fall from the ninth floor of a building in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.
The woman, who hails from South Africa, broke an ankle and sustained a facial injury in the fall, but she is out of danger, doctors said.
The accident occurred Saturday, when the woman, who is on a vacation in Argentina, tried to jump from the terrace of the building to the balcony of her ninth-floor apartment because she locked herself out, Argentine media reported Sunday,
“She misjudged it and fell into an internal courtyard at the building from about 25 metres. Luckily, a tin roof cushioned her fall,” said her boyfriend, a 24-year-old US citizen.
